He\u2019s the guy behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2022\/02\/no-roads-no-problem-for-jetsons-92000-one-personal-helicopter\/\">Jetson One<\/a>, the quad-rotor eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) capable of carrying a human that you might remember from 2022.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/04\/this-stellantis-backed-electric-air-taxi-promises-to-beat-nyc-gridlock\/\">This Stellantis-Backed Electric Air Taxi Promises To Beat NYC Gridlock<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But while the Jetson One uses propellors like a giant DJI drone, the Volonaut Airbike is smaller and relies on some kind of jet power, though Patan is playing his cards close to his chest about the exact technical spec and propulsion system.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p>He did reveal, however, that the Airbike is capable of 124 mph (200 kmh) and that a \u201cproprietary\u00a0stabilization system enhanced by a flight computer provides automatic hover and ease of control for its\u00a0rider.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It also claims that the roofless, screenless shape gives a 360-degree view to help the rider \u201cquickly become one with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/flying-cars\/\">flying machine<\/a> and provides the sensation of complete freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The company\u2019s website says it makes extensive use of carbon fiber and 3D printed parts to achieve a curb weight (or should that be cloud weight?) that\u2019s seven times lighter than a typical <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/motorcycles\/\">motorcycle<\/a>. Since the \u201caverage\u201d bike might weigh something like 600 lbs (272 kg), that would make the Airbike an incredibly light 86 lbs (39 kg), though with rider that figure could triple.<\/p>\n<p>Three videos on Volonaut\u2019s website show the Airbike in action to give us a taste of what a flying motorcycle can do.
