- The crash occurred when the driver couldn’t control the throttle after pulling out from gravel.
- The incident, shared across social media, shows the Mustang sliding into a grass embankment.
The chaos surrounding out-of-control Mustangs outside the United States really took off once Ford decided to share the muscle car with the rest of the world. For many years, it’s been the world’s best-selling sports car, which means it often ends up in the hands of drivers who struggle to keep it under control, especially when all the electronic “nannies” are turned off.

This particular incident appears to have recently occurred in Canada and shows just how easy it is to crash if you can’t control your right foot. The clip, recently re-shared across Reddit, shows the driver hitting the throttle while pulling out from a gravel road, kicking out the rear end.
Watch: Mustang Didn’t Even Make It Out Of The Lot Before Crashing
At first, it seems as though they have everything under control. However, after pulling out, the driver looks to have kept the throttle pinned a little too long, and the Ford then begins to slide out to the left. Unable to catch the slide, the driver jumps on the brakes and crashes down a grass embankment on the side of the road.
The video doesn’t provide us a look at the damage done to the Mustang after the crash and simply shows the driver getting a helping hand walking up from the embankment. If the bottom of the ditch is simply a grassed area or covered in dirt, the car may have avoided any significant damage. With that being said, it seems inevitable that at least the front bumper and grille have been damaged in some way and may need to be replaced, or at the very least, repaired.
As with so many Mustang mishaps, this one was entirely avoidable. All the driver needed to do was lift off the throttle a little earlier, and they could’ve spared themselves the embarrassment of crashing. Let’s hope they at least take away some lesson from this, though something tells me we’ll see this type of silly mistake repeated elsewhere.

Correction: It appears we were misled by the video text. As noted by commentators, the license plate suggests this incident may have occurred in western Canada. We apologize for the mistake.
